How to use the resize by pixels
- Add one image.
- Type the exact width and/or height in pixels.
- Keep the lock on to preserve proportions, or unlock it to set both values independently.

Exact size without distortion
With the aspect lock on, enter one dimension and the other is calculated for you, so the proportions can never go wrong. This is the safe default and the right choice whenever you care about the image looking correct, since it guarantees circles stay round and faces stay unstretched while still hitting your target on the locked edge.
If the target width and height have a different ratio from your source, a proportional resize cannot match both. Use the Crop Image tool to trim to the target ratio first, then resize here to the final dimensions. This removes part of the picture rather than stretching it. Unlocking the ratio forces both numbers but distorts the image, so reserve that for cases where distortion is intended.

What happens if I break the aspect ratio?

Can I set just one dimension?
Yes. With the lock on, enter width and height auto-calculates (or vice versa). That is the safest workflow: proportions can never go wrong.
Why does a 1920×1080 crop not just resize?
A proportional resize only reaches both dimensions when the source is already 16:9. For a different ratio, use a cropper to trim the image without stretching it. Then resize to the required dimensions here. Downscaling removes pixels and source detail, so keep the original.
