Cookies and tool usage

The image tools work in your browser without requiring tracking cookies, and they keep working in full if you decline analytics. First-party tool-event analytics continue without a visitor identifier. Google Analytics runs only if you accept it. Administrator sign-in uses a separate session cookie; ordinary tool users do not need an account.

What the browser stores locally

• AI model cache. The background remover downloads model files from a third-party CDN and your browser may cache them for reuse. The files contain model weights, not your images. The CDN receives ordinary request metadata, such as IP address and browser information, but no image bytes.
• Standard browser cache for the site's code and assets, like any website.
• Your analytics choice. A first-party itz_consent cookie records whether you accepted or declined analytics, with its expiry, for 180 days. It contains no visitor ID and no image data. It is what stops us asking again on every page, so declining is remembered as firmly as accepting.
• Background-removal crash flag. A sessionStorage flag records that processing is in progress so a reload after a crash can show recovery guidance. This supports essential tool functionality, contains no image data and is not a cross-visit identifier.

Analytics

First-party, event-only analytics record the tool ID, event type or outcome, a timestamp and small scalar details when provided, such as image dimensions, output format, processing time or batch count. These events include no image data, file names or visitor IDs, and do not use cookies or fingerprinting to link visits. Fixed failure-stage/reason codes help diagnose tool problems without recording raw error text. Each new event has a random event ID and tracking-version number to prevent duplicate delivery counts; that ID does not identify a person, device or visit. Events may wait briefly in browser memory to be sent together; this queue is not saved in cookies or browser storage.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) runs only if you accept analytics in our cookie banner. Until you accept, no Google Analytics script is loaded and no Google Analytics cookies are set; closing or ignoring the banner is not acceptance. If you accept, GA4 sets its own _ga and _ga_* cookies, and we send Google a consent signal permitting analytics storage only while denying every advertising use. You can change your mind at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer; declining afterwards stops collection and clears those cookies. Previously set Google Analytics cookies may remain in your browser; pausing collection does not automatically delete them. You can remove them through your browser's site-data settings.

Other site data

Security-related server logs and contact-form records are separate from tool analytics. Administrator sign-in uses the pk_admin session cookie to maintain the admin session, not to track tool visitors. See the privacy policyfor these separate uses.

If advertising is enabled in the future

Advertising is currently disabled site-wide. If we enable it (e.g. via Google AdSense), third-party vendors may set cookies to serve and measure ads. In that case:

• This page and our privacy policy will be updated first.
• A visible cookie notice will appear before any ad-related cookies are set.
• Where required by law, you will be able to consent to or decline advertising cookies.
• Accepting analytics does not authorise advertising: the advertising consent signals we send Google are denied, so ads would require a separate choice.
