Upload portals, marketplaces and government forms love arbitrary limits: "image must be under 100 KB". This tool iteratively searches for the exact quality that brings your image under your target size, and if the floor quality is not enough, it gently reduces resolution and tells you honestly what it did.

Frequently asked questions
How does compressing to an exact size work?
Image encoders do not accept a target size directly, so the tool encodes a trial version, measures it, and binary-searches the quality setting, typically converging within 7–8 attempts. You get the largest file that still fits under your limit.
What if my image cannot reach the target size at acceptable quality?
Below roughly quality 30, images look visibly degraded. If you set an aggressive target (like 20 KB for a large photo), the tool also steps down the resolution and clearly reports the final dimensions, rather than silently ruining the picture.
Which format should I pick for a strict size limit?
WebP reaches small targets at noticeably better quality than JPG. Use JPG only when the destination requires that exact format. PNG is not offered here because it cannot be tuned to a target size.
Is the target size guaranteed?
For any reasonable target (≥ 30 KB for typical photos) the result will come in at or just under it. Extreme targets on large images are handled with the dimension-reduction fallback described above. The tool never claims success it did not achieve.
