Favicon Generator

One image in, a complete favicon set out: favicon.ico with 16, 32 and 48px sizes, browser-tab PNGs, the 180px apple-touch-icon for iOS home screens, and the 192/512px icons a PWA manifest needs. Plus the manifest itself and the exact HTML to paste into your head, all generated locally in your browser.

Every icon is rendered from your image on a local canvas and packed in your browser. Your logo never leaves your device.

How to use the favicon generator

  1. Drop in your logo (square works best; transparency is preserved).
  2. Check the real-size previews, from 16px up to 512px.
  3. Download the ZIP: favicon.ico, all PNG sizes and a webmanifest.
  4. Copy the HTML snippet into your <head>, keeping the file names.

Your logo is scaled with high-quality resampling onto transparent canvases: no stretching, no white boxes, and nothing uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Which files does a modern site actually need?

favicon.ico covers legacy browsers and bookmarks; the 32/16px PNGs cover browser tabs; apple-touch-icon.png (180px) covers iOS home screens and Safari reading lists; the 192/512px PNGs plus site.webmanifest cover Android and installed web apps. The generated set includes all of them.

What image should I start from?

A square PNG with transparency is ideal, at least 512×512px. The tool contain-fits your image at every size, so a non-square logo still works: it is centered with transparent padding rather than stretched.

Does the favicon.ico contain multiple sizes?

Yes: 16, 32 and 48px are packed into one ICO file using the PNG-in-ICO container every current browser supports. One file, three resolutions.

Do I need the webmanifest?

Only if you want your site installable as an app (Add to Home Screen on Android, or installable PWA). If you just want the tab icon, favicon.ico plus the two PNGs are enough. The manifest ships with the set either way.
