AVIF to JPG Converter

Your images are processed locally in your browser and never uploaded to any server.

AVIF downloads from the web will not open in that older editor or gadget? Convert them to universally-supported JPG right in your browser: batch supported, quality-controlled, files never uploaded.

How to use the avif to jpg converter

  1. Add your AVIF files.
  2. Set JPG quality. 85+ keeps the visual quality AVIF delivered.
  3. Convert; transparency (rare in photos) flattens to your chosen background.
  4. Download individually or as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't some software open AVIF?

AVIF is from 2019 and requires explicit decoder support. Windows Explorer thumbnails, older Photoshop versions, and various CMS media libraries predate it. JPG support, in contrast, is literally everywhere.

Does converting AVIF to JPG lose quality?

One lossy re-encode, at quality 85+ effectively invisible. The bigger effect is file size: expect JPG output to be substantially larger than the AVIF source. That compression was the point of AVIF.

Can my browser decode AVIF for this to work?

All current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari 16+ decode AVIF fine, and decoding is what this tool needs. If your browser cannot, the tool tells you plainly instead of failing cryptically.
